Advisory Program

Advisory Classes

Advisory classes at New Dawn Charter High School II provide a learning experience complementary to the academic component of our program and are assigned to each individual student based on need.  The advisory classes are designed to provide students with opportunities to explore new possibilities for their future after high school, develop and sharpen necessary life skills and habits, and counseling for social-emotional growth. Advisory classes support physical and mental health, career development, community involvement, volunteer activities, and support for both our Internship and College Now programs.

During our first year of operation, all students will participate in Career Choices and 9th Grade Prep. These two advisory courses shape the academic rigors of the instructional program and prepare our students for their Internship experience beginning for all students who have earned more than 11 credits during the 2020-2021 school year.

The advisory list below includes courses offered beyond the first year of service.

Advisory Classes:

Career Choices

Resiliency and Obstacles

Leadership and Character Development
